Volunteering gives you a sense of purpose and fulfillment, increases your self-confidence and helps you stay physically and mentally active, all while helping others. These are only a few of the reasons why Down Home Ranch began the volunteerism program back in Spring of 2017. Michael was one of the first Ranchers to join the program and he never turned back. He has volunteered at local animal shelters, food banks, thrift stores, the City of Elgin and much more. He looks forward to volunteering every week and proudly tells everyone that it is one of his favorite courses! His advice to anyone wanting to become a volunteer would be that volunteering makes you feel good to know you helped someone else. Just do it! You won’t regret it! 😍
