“Can I help?” This was Matt’s trademark phrase growing up and the emotions behind it still ring true today. Matt’s giving nature runs much deeper than helping the people closest to him – Matt wants to give back on a much larger scale. In 2017, he started volunteering on a weekly basis. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning you will find Matt excitedly gearing up for his next volunteer venture at the Sacred Heart Food Pantry, Bastrop County Animal Shelter or Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. When volunteering, he is known as the helper – making sure others understand their task and that no one is falling behind. Matt’s favorite volunteer duty is packaging eggs at the Food Pantry, making others laugh when he pretends to drop them. Matt’s joy when volunteering is contagious and he hopes that his passion for volunteering is too! 💝
