John’s love of music began when he was a child listening to his favorite artists Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Watching similar artists perform ignited his passion for the guitar, and when he turned 18 he began taking lessons. When asked why he wanted to learn how to make music, John responded with “To make people’s day better!” This sentiment is the perfect example of John’s endearing personality. Every Tuesday afternoon you can find John playing his guitar and singing songs for the Ranchers and staff. He performs a variety of songs, all aimed at creating smiles and uplifting spirits. John’s dream is to learn how to write his own songs and perform around Texas in a band. He finds joy through performing for others and seeing their reaction to his music. His advice for anyone wanting to learn the guitar is “Ignore the negativity, breathe and don’t let your guitar get dusty!”
